Was conned out of about $1,000 from Airconn. His bid (Joe gave me the quote) and I fell for it - was approximately $1,000 more than what it should have been should I have done my homework and gotten bids. My property management company “Real Property Management” should be ashamed to be working with them. They may know how to do the work, but with 30+ years experience, they also figured out how to rip you off (almost without you knowing) RPM takes a “markup” on the “big expensive” jobs, so it’s not in their interest to have you “the home owner” get 2nd or 3rd bids— means less money for them. Also, Airconn and RPM would not give me a itemized bill showing the breakdown of what I paid for the condenser, what I paid him (Joe) for labor, disposal of old unit, recharge Freon, etc... Joe came all the way out to Boron to install a new HVAC system for me. It's always a rough time finding contractors who will work out here. This happens a lot in remote areas. Most contractors want a trip surcharge or other fee. Joe charged no extra fees, did a fantastic job, and price was fair. He explained everything clearly, which is always appreciated.
