Universal Heating & Air Conditioning Repair

Do not use Universal Heating & Air. It seems that installing broken equipment is a pattern for them, but beyond that, they also installed an HVAC unit in such a way that poisonous carbon monoxide was being released INTO my basement. My problems with Universal started when I had a new Goodman unit installed in December for $10,500. Within a few days, the heating didn't work, at which point Universal did send out people to fix it. Fast forward to May when we turned the air conditioning on for the first time, air came out but it wasn't cold. When we called a repair man, we were told that there was a leak in the coil, and that any installer should have noticed this immediately when they tested the pressure. But then he pointed out that the carbon monoxide pipe for the system opened into our basement, which is INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS. My AC broke on 6/2022, (no cold air blowing) and they said I need to change the capacitor and add some freon gas. They charged me for $300 for the capacitor (the part alone was $16.99 on amazon) and labor, I paid $590 and AC doesn't work again after 3 months. I called them again for warranty, no response. so unprofessional and waste of money. Service: A/C system repair

We asked for quote to fix our furnace that was leaking water. When the technician told us that we needed a new furnace. The cost of the new furnace was over 4K. They took a deposit of $459 on our credit card. We got a second opinion by another company. This other company came and fixed our furnace in few minutes. There was blockage in one of the pipes. When we called universal heating the same day to tell them that we had fixed it and that we wouldn't need their services, they told my husband on the phone that the deposit would get reimbursed within 3 to 4 business days since they did not perform any services. We still haven't get that reimbursed to this day and that was back in July. The receptionist that we talked over the phone about getting properly reimbursed was rude and would not let us talk to a supervisor.
