Had a metal roof and two gutters installed in July of 2022. We are happy with the installation of the metal roof and one of the gutters. One of the gutters does not drain properly, water collects at one end and creates stagnant water and a breeding area for mosquitoes. My wife called in May of 2023 to have it looked at. The person sent out said he was not sure how to proceed and said he would go back to the office to discuss with someone else. No one ever contacted us after this. My wife has made multiple call back to Hippo and she is told someone will get a hold of us. This hasn't happened. Warranty is up end of July so I hope this is not a ploy to get out of the warrant so they don't have to fix the gutter. Not happy. When you call, the customer service rep asks" how can I make you smile today". Fixing my gutter at this point might make me grin, but I am far from smiling about this situation.

Buyer beware! This company has no problem misleading and misrepresenting their product and taking advantage of young homeowners. You think you’re getting a good value and they use semantics on what you’re actually getting. I was told by their representative that my house would meet my insurance requirements after I went with this company and now that is not the case and was told there is nothing they can do or will do to resolve the mistake and that it was just “he sad” “she said” well you put your money and trust into the experts that don’t explain anything and assure you all is well when they’re not even up to hurricane standard codes for new roofing in Florida. Also, they do not get back to you in a timely manner.

I recently had a new metal roof installed by Hippo. I rated them 2 out 5 only because of the overhang or should I say lack there of. I questioned the lack of an overhang during the installation and contacted RPS, the metal roofing manufacturer. They told me the recommended overhang should be 2". 1-3/4" if putting up gutters. When I brought this up to Darrian, he referred me to Ricardo. When discussing my concerns with him, he stated that they have done "thousands" of metal roofs with no overhang. I also told him what RPS said. He said he didn't know why RPS would tell me that. He said he'd call them and let me know what they had to say. Never heard back what RPS had to say. With no overhang, rain runs down the drip edge and would go behind the gutters. I was told to cut tabs in the drip edge where the brackets are and tuck the gutters behind the drip edge. A lot of work a simple over hang would have avoided. Mounting the gutters below the drip edge would have let most of the rain over
