I have held off on writing this review for several years since we had Custom Air install an entire new system (including ductwork) back in 2017. Since then, we have also kept annual maintenance agreements that include bi-annual preventive maintenance, so we are still having nothing but ongoing issues with Custom Air. The first and main issue is lack of responsiveness. Despite being a long-time customer with an annual maintenance agreement that promises priority services, etc. getting anything done is like pulling teeth. Our most recent incident, their preventive maintenance tech did not run the heat cycle in early December, and as luck would have it when does the heat try to kick in? Christmas Eve morning! The entire system was down because the contactor burned out. So begins the circus! Absolutely no confidence in this company. I built a high-end home with a high-end builder with Custom Air installing 2 HVAC system in 2016. I currently pay $430 annually for 2 "maintenance" visits per year with Custom Air. Last "maintenance" service was 6/1/23. Nice young man but obviously very new and lacked basic HVAC knowledge. Spent much of his time on his cell phone with supervisor. The email report of services was incomplete and included a few useless photos but missed a lot of test results and often failed to show I had 2 separate HVAC systems. Despite my advising something was wrong with both systems not cooling well, the tech failed to notice both systems had low freon levels- basic absurd oversight. Despite stating they tested run capacitor this tech did not and it was bad (see below). Instead he tried to convince me I needed a new condenser fan and blade $793 (labor only- parts under warranty). From Leonid Gutin 4570 Pinebrook Cir. #301 Bradenton, FL 34209 I called Custom Air & Plumbing 9/15/2022 asking to fix AC. The technician came promptly, diagnosed the problem and offerred to change condensor for $360.00. I didn't expect so expensive repair and asked another company for second opinion. Their specialist determined the problem and simply replaced defective contactor for $254.00. He and myself strongly beleived Custom A & P made false estimate and tried to overcharge me. Not sure if after repair was done Custom technician did any job since AC was in working condition after contactor's replacement. Custom Air & Plumbing started sending me invoice for $360 charge and keeps do it multiple times. I called their Customer Service and tried to explain discrepancies. Lady I was speaking to wasn't able to help and hang-up the phone. Nobody from management hasn't even tried to call me and resolve the dispute. The other invoice has been mailed to me.
