I just took a ragged out starter to these guys, a 6volt from 1959. One of the only shops around like this anymore. Seemed like solid people to me. They turned it around in 24 hours (faster than ordering one), and it looks like new. Was it pricey? Not compared to buying a rebuilt starter (if you can find one in stock, about 60% that cost), and about what I expected considering you're paying a skilled trades person to do something that's going to take a couple hours plus parts. I’ve bought multiple automotive starters and alternators from this shop over the years and so has my dad (even before I was) 15-20 years ago. They make a good product and use the best rebuilt components possible. Like others have said the product lasts longer than the vehicle! I have bought starters from box store auto parts places... they take your core, send it to Mexico to be rebuilt with cheap parts, paint it, and ship it back up here to be resold. I went through 3x Mexico rebuilt “lifetime warranty” starters in 2.5 years on my truck before getting one from S&H. It lasted 7-8 before the truck was sold. Check your prices... usually a good rebuild here is cheaper or almost same price to a box store rebuild! And don’t believe their cheap “lifetime warranty” tag. They know their product only has to last 12-18mo on average before someone sells a car. Then the new owner doesn’t have the warranty info to use the lifetime warranty. Buy a good American Rebuilt unit and have it last!!

Saved about 60 dollars having my starter rebuilt here rather than exchanging it at the auto parts store!
