Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Roto rooter was exceptional in repair as well as response to some communication errors we had. When I addressed them they responded well and graciously and in a timely fashion. The work done to unclog the drains was quick and not intrusive. The person who came was very sweet and said what I was cooking smelled great and was just generally very helpful. I asked her to repark her van so as not to block in our neighbor and she did so promptly and sweetly. Great company - and this employee in particular (Van I believe?) was supreme. Very grateful. We had a clog in our kitchen sink. We tried plunging it and using a 20-foot snake, but we and couldn't get it unclogged. My husband was going to try snaking from the basement pipe but couldn't get t he end-cap off and didn't want to break it, so we called Roto-Rooter. The service man arrived within an hour and a half. He was friendly and helpful. He gave us a couple of other tips to try, but none worked, so we had him do his thing. He used the powerful electric snake and had to go down quite far - farther than ours would reach - and he got the drain open. We were happy to be done with it. The only problem was the cost. We thought the amount charged for his hour of work was pretty steep, but at the time, we were desperate. Hundred of dollars was a lot of us. Many other families would not have been able to afford this service.

Called because of a leak. Plumber came in, looked and saw that the strainer was loose and water was leaking around it. Pipes were fine. He quoted $530 for the whole job. We said we'd call back. Took the strainer off and went to Lowe's. Replacement part (simple screw in) cost less than $40. Screwed in with some plumber's tape and it's fine. Just the facts.
