Theide Plumbing Heating & Hvac

I hired Thiede to replace our HVAC system for an agreed-on price in the springtime a couple of years ago. In the fall I found we had no heat. I was told we only purchased an AC system even though they removed an HVAC and HVAC was in our contract. After refuting that claim they agreed to come back and look at the system. They had to install an electrical box of some sort and handed us a bill for $703. They never tested the system for heat when installing the new HVAC apparently, which is incompetent in my opinion. I mean, the H in HVAC means heat right? I foolishly paid the bill and then contacted the company to question the charge. They would not discuss it with me. For the next couple of years, I had Thiede take care of the maintenance while the system was under warranty. Then they started charging $380 (the bill included a travel surcharge) for the service that is typically $160. I have never written a negative review before but felt people should be aware.

I had a small job… garbage disposal replacement/kitchen sink leaking. I live in worcester. NO ONE bc in worcester was calling me back. I had NO kitchen sink for 3 weeks. Talking to a friend about it, she recommended Theide. They came out within a few days… replaced the disposal. Took them about 45 minutes.. would have taken me 2 days!! (With A LOT of adult beverages ) . My house was a disaster … but the two men were professional and completed the job. Cleaned up after themselves and were very pleasant. From calling to make the appointment… (she didn’t make me feel incompetent with explaining plumbing issues) to sending pictures of the issue and having them come all the way to Worcester… this company was great to work with. I live on the same street as the owner of this business and they have done work for us in the past. But this March we gave them a deposit to install central AC, and 4 months later after telling thar although they have the AC unit, they’re too busy doing big jobs and now they don’t return our phone calls. We have 2 people working from home in 90 degree weather, one of whom is our 21 year old son, who actually lent us the money for the AC. I see plenty of Nashoba Air and Milltown trucks doing work in our neighborhood, but the guy who lives here just takes our money and strings us along.
