Bigelow Electrical Co Inc

I saw a post about Bigelow Electric in Worcester and had to add my post also even though I almost never post on the internet. When I arrived at Bigelow Electrical I happened to pass the owner of the company. I didn't realize this at the time however; he introduced himself as Scott Bigelow and asked if I was being helped. I explained I had a rather large motor on my flatbed and he came out to the truck and looked at the motor. He actually went into great detail about the motor and the original manufacturer, their history and even a few changes they made on the design. I must say the owner was like a walking computer of knowledge when discussing the motor. He then asked me to come into his office and pulled up a few drawings and went into great detail about the working parts and the design. He then brought in a person who worked in a room called the winding room and we discussed a change that the manufacturer had done to a thing called a rotor and a stator. There may be things that you see as a customer that makes no sense to you when having an electric motor rebuilt but they are done like this for a very specific reason. After speaking with a few rebuild shops about my motor issue, these shops wanted to just replace the original type bearings. Bigelow Electric brought up a very good point that I really thought about before contracting with them. The fact that my motor had and required a certain bearing, they recommended a new design bearing which literally solved the issue. I spoke with one of their motor technicians and found him to be more systemic, and calculated. We had a great conversation about electric motors, new bearing types and my particular application. Now, we no longer operate the motor of and on in between our normal cooling periods. Thank you again guys.
