Serene Comfort Heating, Cooling and Refrigeration

My AC went out on June 21st. I called and spoke with Jonathan at Serene Comfort Heating and Cooling to schedule a service call. I was charged $124 and told the repair to my AC would be $1,689 to replace my ‘high end’ AC Control Board. I looked online and a high end control board is $650. To install it would be under 30 minutes. That means Serene Comfort was going to charge me $1,039 for less than 30 minutes to install it! That is excessive in my book. I then paid another service charge for Briarwood Heating and Cooling to give a quote for the repair. I was only charged $99 for their service call. I was informed it was in fact the AC control board that needed replacing, and at most the charge would be $1,000, that’s $689 cheaper than what Serene Comfort was going to charge me. Better yet, the Briarwood Heating and Cooling guy called me back to tell me the control board on my AC UNIT is covered under warranty, and would only cost me $50 for him to install it the next day.
