It was a pleasure working with John. My wife and I really appreciated his honesty and thoughtfulness. He was great at recommending alternatives to the work we needed completed and wasn’t simply looking for ways to charge us. If something didn’t need to be done or if he felt someone else may be better suited for the work, he’d tell us. Definitely one of the few trustworthy guys out there.

John recently did some work in our house, and was honestly our ideal contractor. We've had bad experiences just getting someone to show up, let alone do good work, and John was great across the board. He was a good communicator, and showed up on time to begin the two jobs we had him work on during his four days at our house. We needed some drywall/plaster repair in our kitchen, and John did an amazing job start to finish, communicating with us about our old house and any issues he ran into along the way. He also took a look at a leaky pipe situation and coached us through the best way to handle the problem. Most contractors might have milked us for days of work to keep digging to keep making easy money, but John was extremely honest about our issue and saved us hundreds if not thousands of dollars to fix something that we could easily live without. John O’Donovan is an outstanding craftsman, highly skilled and easy to work with. My wife’s and my assignment for him was especially challenging: when a built-in refrigerator was torn out of an alcove in our kitchen, it left behind a mess. The walls were gouged, wood frame were exposed – and the floor was irregular, creating problems for our new refrigerator. (Another workman had given up on the floor problem.) John looked it over, used his imagination, and after several days’ hard work turned the alcove into an attractive space, refinished and repainted. With fine craft skill he created a flat surface for the floor, so that the new refrigerator works properly. In addition John had a fine eye for other potential issues in the house and gave us good ideas for maintenance. Finally, John answers messages and calls promptly.
