Getting an estimate for 'Big' jobs is an integral part of the job. Estimating keeps all vendors honest and competitive. Don't expect One-Call Plumbing to be competitive. They will charge you a $95 dispatch fee whether you 'commission' them or not. You want competitive bids. Charging the customer for a estimate almost guarantees you won't get their "best" or "most competitive" quote. Do yourself a favor and skip the call to them if you need a quote for a big project. There are other plumbers still willing to travel for free, for a chance at a big-ticket item.
