Richards is GREAT! Our water heater developed a leak at 4PM. We called Richards and they scheduled an appointment for the next morning between 7:30 & 8:30. At 8:30 they called to say they were running late and would be there at 9:00. They arrived and within 20 minutes had determined the water heater needed to be replaced, the price, they had it in stock and that it would be done that day. At 10:30 am one person arrived to start disconnecting and draining the old water heater followed by two other people who had the water heater. By 1:15 they were through. They cleaned the floor where the old heater was before installing the new one. They were efficient, extremely competent and the price was reasonable. They put drop cloths down to protect the floors and when they were finished everything was cleaner than when they started. I have experienced excellent service with Richards for several years, and the latest was no exception. The appointment scheduling went smoothly, and the technician (Ever) arrived promptly. Ever quickly diagnosed the issue on the condenser and replaced the part (capacitor). Afterwards, he inspected and cleaned the air handler. 1400 % Mark-Up? Richards replaced a 45+5MFD capacitor, available on Amazon for $14. Excluding installation, Richards charged $182 . They also added 1 lb of refrigerant for $230, which, including installation should have cost $50. They charged $230. Be wise. Shop around. Service: HVAC system maintenance
