I called lakeside today because my air conditioning wasn't working. They had someone out within two hours and it is working perfectly again. Their diagnosis fee was very reasonable, and I knew what it was going to cost me before they fixed it.

A friend recommended Lakeside and said they did excellent work, and I'm sure that's true; however, she didn't realize how much higher their rates are compared to other companies. Lakeside came to our house quoted us $360 for some non-urgent bathroom plumbing rerouting, but couldn't schedule the work for a week to 10 days. We ended up hiring another plumber (Tate's Plumbing! Wonderful, respectful, timely, and reasonably priced! They did the work the same day they estimated the cost) to do the work for $225. The real issue, however, was an office mixup that led to us receiving the full $360 bill--for NO work done, only an estimate. I had to call three different times before the folks at the office (who were very nice, but apparently follow-through isn't their strength) not only agreed that the charge was incorrect, but actually removed it. After this, they still tried to charge me a $65 "diagnostic fee." Given the circumstances, I objected and they removed the charge entirely. These folk
