Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services

All I can say is go elsewhere. Small restaurant here in Richmond. I call these guys out every 6 months or so to jet out our waste pipes. We always know when the flow from the kitchen sink slows we call before it gets too bad to avoid emergency calls. We called last week and scheduled for Monday 8-10 am first call is what we were told. We open at 11 so that was perfect. I always have our handyman go in before they arrive to open up a panel on the wall and remove clean outs, move equipment out of the way and clean up after and replace etc. so these guys don’t have to waste their time troubleshooting anything. Monday morning things got weird with these guys. Was told 9am then 9:45 I call and he’s on his way. Get a call from the tech at about 10 saying agin he was on his way but needed to fill equipment with water and finally shows up at 11 (opening time which we have delayed at this point) which I accepted because I know stuff happens. I had booked an appointment for Wednesday, July 19 for service. The window was from 8am to 12pm. I stayed home all day and did my work via Zoom calls. By 11:30am, when they had not arrived, I got worried as I needed to head downtown. So, I called Roto-Rooter to ask if they are still on their way. The person who answered said that the appointment was cancelled because I had not answered by phone when they call to confirm again. She also claimed that they left me a voicemail. This is not true. There had been a call earlier in the morning that I could not answer as I was working, but no voicemail was left. It is bad enough that one must wait for 4 hours for them to come, but now you had better be doing NOTHING else and be ready to answer their phone call, despite having a reservation already. I explained my frustration and they didn't care. Just said that was their policy. Fair enough. I just advise against anyone doing business with a company like this.

I encourage any experienced plumbers in the area to give the new roto rooter of rva as much of a chance as any other of the best plumbing and drain cleaning companies in the river city. If you want a company that cares about you and your family send a resume immediately.
