Alaskan Air charged us more than 800 dollars to replace a capacitor! Beware they do not call it a capacitor they call it a "voltage enhancement system" which is just a made up term to make it seem more expensive than it really is. The part costs less than 30 bucks. When I asked again what the issue was, the tech said "voltage enhancement device", not capacitor. I feel stupid for being scammed into paying nearly a thousand dollars for a 30 dollar part and 30 minutes of work. Unfortunately I had no other options as the tech showed up after 8 pm (which was past the scheduled time) and we had been without ac the entire day. It was either pay the price or deal with another sweltering night. I couldn't let my pregnant wife or my toddler go through that again. Even worse I paid them 129 dollars 3 months ago to have my system inspected. That supposedly came with a one year no break down guarantee. The folks at Alaskan AC & Heating are amazing. Our unit was out service early this morning. By 8 am we had a same day appointment and by 10:30 the unit was repaired and back in service.
