My wife and I bought a 1963, 2-story, 2,300 sf home in San Clemente with a gas furnace, old and damaged ducting, asbestos components, and a challenging layout to configure for efficient heating & cooling. After interviewing and bidding 4 different companies, I chose 1st Choice for the job. They were competitive on price (although not the very cheapest of the 4 vendors), but they won the business because they were extremely communicative, transparent, and creative as we evaluated a variety of options (thanks again Chris & Corey). I never felt I was being upsold - instead, the effort went into getting the most bang-for-my-buck, and a system that would be reliable. By the time I signed the contract and paid my deposit, I had no questions left to ask and a very clear expectation of total project scope, schedule and pricing. I had another company to our home before 1st Choice, and they had no clue what was wrong with our heating system. They actually told us that we needed to replace it for $13,000! The 1st Choice technician was so knowledgeable and professional. After checking the system, he explained how our particular system works, and there is absolutely nothing mechanically wrong with it!
