Carlos, President of Ascent Roofing was very responsive in addressing a roof leak that showed up after a heavy rain that made a leak appear inside the attic and left a large stain in the drywall ceiling upstairs. Luis, Roof Technician, came the next day and inspected the roof. He took close up pictures and gave me a clear set of options. They could provide a repair of just the section of leaking roof or completely replace the underlayment on a concrete tile roof. The tract house is 27 years old. I found out the 30 lb unreinforced felt underlayment installed by the builder was never expected to last much beyond 15 years. I did my own research on this. In other words, the builder's underlayment was garbage. When I bought the house, I was told a concrete tile roof is a "100 year roof". A concrete tile roof isn't worth much if the underlayment fails and leaks, causing a lot of interior damage.
