Island Electric-First Coast

I am so happy I found Island Electric! We are in the process of adding an in-law suite to our home and needed a licensed electrician to wire it as well as wire the new AC unit. I was collecting quotes from other electricians when one of them noticed I had a list of other electricians on my table. He pointed out Island Electric and said they are good electricians and good guys. If this electrician was willing to compliment his competition it meant that Island Electric was doing something right to earn his respect. After meeting JR and walking through the job I knew he was the guy we were going to hire. He didn’t hem and haw or try high sales pressure, he was a straight shooter and after dealing with so many salesmen I truly appreciated JR’s demeanor. JR and Ralph were so great to work with... After leaving an electrician that gouged us every chance they got, we stumbled this loser company. Not only couldn’t they schedule or show up EVER when promised, but they failed to collect a $100 check last visit while my husband was home. They would not mail an invoice or take a credit card. During the holidays I was contacted numerous times to leave a check by the door, which I did..over and over. Also I had to continually call the gate for them to access which I did. Par for the course I had to listen to Katie’s (the owner apparently) sob story about they just couldn’t make it out, over and over. Then after another week or two I get a phone call to leave them the check again, Katie says our stars were crossed. Mine weren’t. I did as she asked. I dared to say no one is showing up just send me a bill, I was tired of calling the gate and leaving the check. She was not pleased.
