Gator Electric and Communications

Gator Electric has done work for me several times in the past. Each time, the service techs are knowledgeable, honest and give realistic expectations with excellent service. We have used them for both electrical and communication work in our home and we have never had a problem with anything they have done. The workmen are clean, respectful and punctual. They do not leave a mess when they are finished! Recently, I had my AC serviced by another company and discovered the exterior electrical breaker was failing. Due to hot, moist summers in South Florida, my wife and I wanted the component changed as quickly as possible. We called and Gator Electric was there within 18 hours of my request, fixed both the breaker and the box. Now we can face summer heat without concern of an unexpected electrical malfunction. I called Gator to give an estimate on repairing damage that my internet people had done while burying my cable. Denise, who answered my call, was polite, professional, and quite pleasant to speak with. I had an electrician/technician scheduled almost immediately for the next afternoon, I knew how much the visit would cost, when he was coming, his name and informed that he would call when he was on his way. My electrician was also professional and polite. We went over the damage, my concerns and ideas, as well as what his plans were and different approaches available to complete the work. I have submitted my estimate to my internet provider, but have not yet had the repair. The people that answer the phone are awesome, the master electrician seemed great but when I needed an analysis of an electrical issue and the electrician that came to check my house came… he charged me over $300 to ask me a question (how old is your house? There should be another outlet in here…) My husband moved some boxes and found the hidden outlet, reset the GFI himself and he wanted the full price of close to $500. They brought the price down but it was in no way $300 worth of service. The serviceman tried to make my husband feel better by explaining the other different ways he wasn’t scamming us, however that only raised more red flags. Be careful and make sure you can pay high prices for 5 min of time. We personally won’t use them again which does make me sad because the family seems nice but at the end of the day we feel completely taken advantage of…
