We called for a routine furnace inspection. That was done as promised. I mentioned that I was struggling with the small numbers on my thermostat. My tech, Ahmed contacted his office and explained my situation. Maria in the office verified my Nicor protection plan and 2 days later I had a new easy to read thermostat. My husband and I have been loyal customers for 20+ years. We first dealt with George Sr and he helped us with our first furnace purchase. We used them for all our cleaning and maintenance. Then we used them again to get a new furnace when we had flooding in our basement and then again to get an air conditioner. This past Friday as I do every year I had them come out to clean and check our furnace before we turn it on. I was told by the technician that I had a crack in the heat exchanger and there was extreme flame rollout so the furnace needed to be replaced. The way he showed me this was with pictures on his phone and not the furnace itself. When I said I was surprised because I didn’t feel it was that old, he said it was 16 years old. It’s actually 13 years old. Then I got a call from George giving me a quote for the work they were going to do which included changing out all the duct work. Normally I would trust them since we’ve used them for years, but something didn’t seem right. S
