Van Buren Electric Co

I am more than pleased with the work done by Van Buren Electric Co. First off, I had three different other companies come out to my house to assess the work. I wanted a 200 amp replacement panel as well as several new dedicated 20 amp circuits. I also wanted existing circuiting extended to add new lights in several areas. We are talking wiring from one end of my house to the other side with a finished basement. All the other companies that came out to give me a quote wanted to run conduit outside my house all the way around to make it easy for them. Van Buren Electric came out and never once even suggested that. Craig looked at the job and said he would run everything through the walls and ceiling. He did mention there might be a couple drywall cuts, but I knew that was to be expected. I hired them on the notion this was the only company that wasn’t taking a short cut and I wanted a quality job with keeping my house looking great. My lights in the house started flickering. It took DTE 4 days before they came out and said they needed to replace a connection at the pole. In the meantime, I started to smell an electrical burning smell near my fuse panel. I called 5 different electrical companies and nobody was available. Van Buren Electric called me back and said they had a cancellation and would be available. They sent an electrician right over and he immediately determined that I had a meltdown in my electrical panel. He took me outside and showed me that the service wire coming into the house was worn and water was getting in and shorting out the panel. Van Buren rearranged their schedule so they could get this problem resolved. The two electricians showed up the next morning on time. They kept me informed of the process while installing the new panel. They cleaned up the site when they were done. Great company! They will be my "go to" company for all my electrical needs. Terrible experience with VanBuren electric. Had a guy come out to get an estimate to add a 110 outlet in a closet on 12/20/2021. He was here for 2 minutes, which made sense because the box is in the same closet and there are access panels in the ceiling to route the wire. He did not give me an estimate on the spot, but said he would email it; not a big deal. Two weeks went by without an email. I called, first week in January, and the receptionist said she would follow up. Still nothing on the 15th.
