After waiting 10 weeks for someone to come out and do the original work described I received a call from an employee about my work order. I told him my husband wanted to add on a few things. He said he could be at my house in 20 minutes to discuss the new items to add. He did not mention that there would be a minimum service fee for him to come to my house to have a discussion. He then told us that he would be able to get to the work the following week. So, I called to see when that would be since it was midway through the week. I was then told that it would be an additional 4 weeks or more and that I would be charged a minimum service fee because he came out to look at things. If you are going to charge someone money this should be agreed upon upfront, not mentioned after the fact. When I said this to the receptionist she hung up on me.

Regarding comments made by Aaron Bratton here is the truth: Customer called to complain, we discounted bill even though accurate in interest of satisfying customer & then he STILL filed a complaint, based on his lies. He claimed he asked for an estimate when he called in, which he never did. Our technician provided a service, checking panels & tightened all connections then checked continuity and he just didn’t want to pay...we had to threaten court before he finally paid over a month later (the discounted amount). Spoke to the technician, he said guy asked for estimate when he called before going out, technician told him we don’t give estimates for service work that price is $85 an hour for labor & did he still want him to come...Mr. Bratton told him to come on over to check it out. It's unfortunate people can go on here and just post any lie they want in an attempt to hurt someones business. Hodges Electric has been a staple in this community for over 60 years now. One of the oldest full service electrical contractors in Wilmington, still family owned & operated since 1957, that's 63 years of satisfied customers & a reputation for quality work at fair prices. The prices are competitve with other companies in our area. They are upfront and HONEST with the customers, telling them right away when they can't get there as soon customers have been used to.
