Finding a good electrician is as important as finding a good plumber. Bretco checked off all our boxes. I spoke with Randy a few days prior to our appointment as he wanted to fully understand what service we required. Matt and Lane arrived on time (actually early), was professional, personable, knowledgable, reasonable. A pleasure to work with. While I may not need regular electrical work, it is good to know I can count on Bretco Electric. I highly recommend their services. If you are a woman, do NOT use this company. I have used them several times, each time was worse than the time before.In the early years they were great. I don't know if ownership has changed, but my last 3 experiences have been unsatisfactory. If you call to register a complaint or report damage, the owner will not call you back. I was quoted $150, max $200 to switch out a GFI switch (a $20 part and 5 min labor). The man spent 40 min (20 of it just chatting) and I received a bill for over $300!!!!!! I specifically told the young woman who took my call that I needed an estimate because I could not afford to pay $300 to switch out a GFI. She assured me the max would be $200 and more likely $150 including the charge for transportation. I have contacted several other companies since who said they would have charged between $75 and $150 max. I believe they take advantage of me because they equate being a woman with being stupid. Really happy we went with Bretco Electric! We wanted to replace a light fixture in our two story foyer and my husband quickly realized he was out of his depth. I was able to get an appt the very next day, after two calls to another electrician without any response. Technicians showed up on time and were very personable and professional. They even fixed and troubleshooted a smart switch that we had installed incorrectly. Then, they moved up a fixture in my dining room that was hanging too low, which wasn’t on the original work order. Rate was reasonable, too, compared to the other estimate I received. Will be calling again for any other electrical needs. Thank you!
