Palmer Gas & Oil

Palmer has been our propane distributor since we moved into our house in November 2020. We knew that we would need to replace our oil furnace and central air system when we purchased the house, and lucked out having it live for over 2 years. We the system failed, we reviewed a quote from a couple vendors. We had no idea that Palmer provided the same services. We called Palmer to run the gas line and we found out that they could replace and service the system. Jon D. Explained the differences in systems, including pricing, efficiencies (for both heat and AC), as well as pulling the permits and assisting us with the rebates. Brandon, Dan and Ed worked so hard to install the system for three straight days. They were knowledgeable, professional and skilled. We are so happy that they were able to perform the work, and they will be servicing the equipment for any cleanings or repairs when necessary as we have complete faith in their capabilities! This will be long, so I’ll give a quick summary: incredibly nice people, excellent response times, wonderful install/service folks. Hilariously bad, sometimes rude, communication, which lead to (big!) surprise bills. We had Palmer, our existing oil supplier, convert our heating system to LP in April. The process from quoting to deposit went quite well, but then things started to get odd. The first was the call to schedule the install; the person I spoke with scheduled us for Jan ’23. It wasn’t until after I hung up the phone that I realized we would be without heat for 3 days in NH winter. I called back to confirm this was the case (maybe we would have heat?), and the woman acted like I had asked her the strangest question- obviously you won't have heat. When I suggested we reschedule for spring, she seemed annoyed and bewildered, but did so. At this same time, we discussed turning off oil auto delivery so we wouldn’t have a full tank when it was removed. Keep this in mind for later. C

I heard that Palmer Gas now offers electrical services, so I called for an estimate to add a receptacle for a new electric range and add a breaker & run cable to convert my gas dryer to electric in the future. I have always found the customer service at Palmer Gas to be top notch, so I accepted the proposal and scheduled the service. Dom R. and Jason C. came out and got right to work. They finished within a couple of hours, and even installed my range for me! The guys were knowledgeable, polite, quiet and CLEAN! I will be calling back to install some new fixtures in the fall.
