Stay Cool Heating and Air Conditioning

I have been suffering all summer with inefficient, old, moldy wall units in my older condo unit. Finally the one in the living room started leaking water onto my hard wood floors and I knew I needed to make a change. I found Stay Cool on line and read reviews and decided to call. George came over, recommended the size, brand and time for install and quoted me a price. Not only did they show up on time, the install could not have been more professional. Not a speck of dust was left behind, George explained the entire system, took time to show me how to work the remote and guaranteed my system for 12 years. We had an LG mini-split system installed by Bill Leary about 7 years ago. It was a total disaster. We needed service every year when the air conditioning would not work. We discovered it was the installation that caused the problem. The Bill Leary technicians installed the system with open metal gutters. We had birds nesting in the gutters, and my son had a bird's nest in his mini-split in his bedroom! We called George as he is a Mitsubishi Diamond contractor. George and Evan are simply THE BEST at what they do. We have 7 mini-splits in our rooms and two external units. George and Evan installed them last summer. The air conditioning and heating are fantastic! We also had our least expensive winter heating bills by using these as heat pumps. When our home’s 2nd floor HVAC breaker kept tripping, we first called our electrician (R&M Houserites, who are fantastic), who, after inspection, said it was likely an issue with the HVAC itself. So would called an HVAC repair company, who told us the outdoor unit, the compressor, was “blown” and that the only option was replacement. His quote for a new unit was, to be nice, ridiculous. So with that we called Stay Cool to assess the unit. In short order, George, the owner of Stay Cool, diagnosed that the outdoor compressor, once started, had good power and all looked right with the unit (my words). The issue was that the compressor, on start-up, needed a little power boost to kick start the compressor on. He installed a “kickstarter”, which these outdoor compressors are equipped to be fitted with, and the upstairs bedrooms and other rooms have been perfectly cooled ever since.
