John Kot, or John Scarpa as written on the contractor invoice, cannot be found on any NY contractors website when searched. His license number is not on the Big John Roofing website either. A little too late, after searching for a credible proof of his business and ability to contract, I did find a 2012 suit from the State of New Jersey for a John Kot totaling $7 million dollars, taking his license, & a lifetime ban from home improvement work, creating and managing businesses in NJ. Contillo found that Kot's companies had committed more than 1,500 violations of state laws governing consumer fraud, contractor registration, and regulations on advertising and home improvement." John and his team did an excellent job installing our new roof from start to finish. He came promptly, inspected our roof, gave his recommendations and explained the costs. Within a few days John’s crew was at our home. The job was done in a timely fashion. They even raked our lawn to make sure there were no nails or debris left. Would highly recommend John.
