Since moving into my house in 1994 I have experienced water backups despite having several sump pumps which tended to overheat during continuous and heavy rain storms. Many plumbers have come and gone with poor band-aid solutions and little insight around the real problem. Last summer Chuck Plugues from Richmond Plumbing took a different approach. He was determined to figure out the root cause and would not accept a "we'll manage the water after it backs up solution". While doing another important plumbing job in my house, he came up with an idea that required some digging but eventually found broken PVC pipe that terminated two feet underground in the middle of my lawn. Rain water had no where to go except backup into my house and engage the sump pumps. Chuck and partner Anthony Fahallah found the problem, replaced the pipe and built out to a point of safe release.
