We contacted Nelson Comfort 10/5/22 for a free 2nd opinion to replace our old Trane furnace. Mike came to our home the next day and provided an estimate for a Lennox gas furnace replacement and an Aprilaire humidifier (which was not included on our first estimate from our current HVAC company). Mike's estimate was well over $1000 below our first estimate. Early today (10/10/22), exactly one week after learning our furnace needed to be replaced, Matt arrived to install our new Lennox furnace (and humidifier). Matt and Tyler completed the installation in 5 1/2 hours. They were prompt, courteous, and professional, and they answered all of our questions. We are entirely satisfied with their work and with the price we paid for our new furnace. We strongly recommend you consider Nelson Comfort if you find yourself in need of a new furnace. Had Nelson come out twice for two different heating issues. First time, they were unable to do anything and I paid the service fee. It happens, all good. Second time, I noticed our furnace was intermittently short cycling and wanted to get it checked out before extreme weather hit later in the week. They came out Monday and said everything looked fine and I paid to service the unit. By Friday, the outside temp drops to negative digits and we were sitting in our 50 degree house with space heaters and a no heat. I call them up but never got through to anyone after multiple tries. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY!! Not only did they show up extremely late but they misdiagnosed our AC issue and attempted to overcharge. They did not initially mention a service charge during the call and sprung it on us after our quote. Our parts were under warranty but they quoted $1,400 solely for labor. The labor entailed changing a small part that would have taken no more than 15 minutes. They told us our system required 9lbs of refrigerant where it clear as day says 4.5lbs on the system. Deliberately tried to take advantage of a family with a baby who desperately needed their AC repaired. Inexperienced and unqualified technicians. Paid $85 for them to tell me all the wrong things. Look anywhere else.
