We had our 27-year-old cedar shake roof replaced by Klam Construction in June. Owner Abel personally came out to inspect our roof and give us a quote. While inspecting the attic he noticed several things that were not up to code when the roof was installed. We got 5 quotes and Abel's quote was the most detailed, including list of all materials and services necessary for the job. Although Abel's quote was not the lowest, it was a fair quote and unlike a couple other roofers who pressured us to commit that day for a lower price, Abel gave us quotes for 4 options that were good for 2 weeks with no pressure to sign immediately. He also did not push more costly options that other roofers did and explained to us why they were not necessary for our roof though he would gladly upsell us if we really wanted them. I could not recommend Klam Construction highly enough. I used them to replace my roof. The owner, Abel Serrano, was thorough, conscientious, polite and oversaw all aspects of the work. The work performed was first-class and I was very happy with the product and the cost. I would definitely use Klam Construction again. P.S. I was the other half of the decision...the guy. Elizabeth and I were both impressed with the integrity and honorableness of Abel. He is a humble, hard-working man who started with nothing almost 30 years ago, learned the business by working for others, then opened KLAM. He treats his employees well, his work crew was respectful and quick and comprehensive. It was really an exceptional experience: someone who kept their word in every way, who has pride in their work, who is worthy of your strong consideration. This past winter we had five roofing companies come out and give us bids to replace our roof. Abel from Klam Construction was the most comprehensive and detailed. He explained the entire process and answered our questions thoroughly. The work crew was outstanding. On time, competent, courteous and maintained a clean work area at all times. Replaced all vents and skylights. Neighbors commented on the quality of the work. Abel came out to inspect the work before payment. Can recommend without reservation. Outstanding company. Having witnessed their performance we now know why Klam Constructions gets five star reviews. Thoroughly pleased with the entire process.
