West Side Electric Company

My partner and I recently bought a fixer and well...it needs a lot of fixing! WSE was recommended to me by a family friend, and they definitely steered me in a good direction! Tobey from WSE was timely, professional, kind, and so knowledgeable! He was invested in helping my partner and I learn about the electrical engineering in our home. As a young, queer-female I did not once feel intimated or uncomfortable while work was being done on our electrical panel etc! Service: Electrical outlet & switch installation

In August 2016 West Side Electric in Portland, Oregon charged me $185 for a problem they were not able to solve of sporadic power failures that lasted for hours every few days. They recommended a new meter box for about $1000.00. Another company, Oakley, came with a screw driver and tightened up a screw in the meter and the problem was solved. Westside ignored my explanation as to why I should not have to pay. I paid when a second bill arrived so as not to jeopardize my credit rating.

Awful experience from one of their electricians. Major remodel work was executed with little care or professionalism from this particular West Side Electric Company employee. Installed dozens of new outlets--mostly in place of old ones--and they were almost ALL crooked. Whenever he needed to use screws--which was often--he would grab whatever size was in his pocket, causing damaged to brand new cabinets or emerging thru walls and floorboards. He managed to scuff or break multiple BRAND NEW fixtures. This extremely poor work almost seems intentional as if this employee is very unsatisfied with his experience working at West Side Electric Company. This guy doesn't respect his professional, his employer, or the high price for his work. I expect good work and craftmanship, not a $500 "hush money" offer.
