Reliable Electric and Heating & Air

We used Reliable Electric Heating & Air to upgrade the electric service for our new Tanning Salon located on 17 Bypass S in Myrtle Beach. We worked closely with the owner, field men and office staff. I have to say without them we would not be up and running today. They were all a call away when we had any questions or concerns. Everyone at Reliable was more than willing to help. I would hire them over and over again. My family will be forever grateful to have found the right company for our nerve wracking adventure.

We heard the crash- the kitchen chandelier had torn out of the ceiling and glass shattered everywhere. Reliable Electric had installed it 13 months ago. Their electrician, D., arrived at our home a few minutes before I did and my wife let him in. He arrived seething with anger and hostility- my wife said she felt threatened having him in the house. When I got home D. was still steaming mad and was basically shouting at me that it wasn’t their fault and it’s only a 12 month warranty and besides we probably did something to make it happen and so on. When I tried to ask him if he would let me complete a sentence he continued to shout so I walked to another room and he left the house. (My new electrician explained that the deck-style screws Reliable had put into the plastic ceiling can were a little too big and eventually the plastic split.) His boss (the owner?) Rich called the next day. He wasn’t yelling but it was clear customer retention was not a priority for him. No apology

The only thing “reliable” about this company is their inconsistency. I had the displeasure of using this company through a contract basis and they couldn’t have done a worse job. Actually, they could have, if they ever showed up. Had an appointment for Friday and they wouldn’t come because it was 3:30 and too close to the weekend, but guaranteed they’d be here before 12:00 noon on Monday. They never showed up, and when I called hours later to their office I was told, “I don’t know where the technician is but I can tell you he won’t be coming today.” I mentioned that we had an appointment before noon, why won’t he be coming at all now, and I received the wonderful answer of “I know you had the appointment, but they won’t be coming today.” Wonderful. I called the company who hired Reliable and told them to find me someone knew, only THEN to be contacted by the technician who acted surprised I was upset that he missed two appointments! Avoid this company if you actually need work done. If
