Mr. Electric of Round Rock

I had Mr. Electric out on 9/20/22. The call was to investigate an electrical anomaly and see if they could fix it. the tech came out and diagnosed the problem as a faulty breaker. So far so good. The tech is great. nice. knowledgeable. He comes back with a quote to change 1, ONE, breaker at the circuit box. ~$430.00!!! FOUR HUNDRED dollars. to change one breaker. There was no confusion of it being 1 breaker or the whole circuit board because my wife specifically asked if it was just 1 or the whole thing. And he confirmed, 1 breaker, $430 dollars. He told me that the cost of the breaker was $350.00 dollars because of supply chain, scarcity or something. I am willing to give the tech the benefit of the doubt on this, I dont believe he was trying swindle me, or if he was it was an unwritten minimum that the company has to charge for any work. My experience has mostly been great. Recently, we encountered the same issue we had a couple years ago. The issue was apparently not solved then. Hopefully, it will be resolved this time. Both techs were great in dealing with the issues both times. They were clear and concise in the work that needed to be done. And they executed the work properly, as our power was restored in both cases. My issue is Mr. Electric systems. I had to tell the new tech about the work that was performed two years ago. The tech also tried to sell the Advantage Plan to us again. This also happened when I called to make the service appointment. The rep who answered the phone tried to sell the Advantage Plan to me. We are on the Advantage Plan and have paid for it. I expect your techs and reps to be aware of our status as customers. We should not need to remind your staff of our status. John S arrived on time and was very thorough when he explained what he discovered and my options for repair and replacement. The prices he quoted were very reasonable. Replacement of the main panel required temporary disconnect of power, and city permits and inspection. John coordinated with the power company and city so that the work was done quickly and power was restored with minimum disruption to my family.
