Roto-Rooter

We have had Roto-Rooter come to our apartment twice in the last six months. The first time was to clear a clog in our bathroom sink. They were polite and had the job done in forty five minutes or less. After making sure the problem was resolved they took some time to make sure the area was clean and left. The second time they came was to fix a backing up sink. Apparently the apartment above us was having the same problem. They were scheduled to come two days, one for the apartment above us and then the next day for our apartment. They were some how able to squeeze us in the first day and make it a one day venture, which was awesome. During the fix a pipe broke and we ended up with mucky water all over the floor. They finished fixing the problem, grabbed some towels to pick up all the water off the floor, said sorry and then left. The sink works great now. My only complaint being that they left a mess in our apartment. We spent a few hours cleaning up after them. They cleared the water

Tim showed up on time and with more equipment than what I thought was needed to resolve a major septic/drain issue. Truth is he knew exactly what was needed after describing my problem and resolved the problem fast, taught me how to eliminate future issues and I found his price to be very fair. They were overpriced and unprofessional. I called on Saturday night of Memorial Day Weekend. I expected to pay more than usual, but they went way overboard. They charged me $200 for a “holiday call”. That’s confusing since the holiday was 2 days after the call. I felt like the $200 was overkill. They had already charged me a late evening fee- which I understood and had no problem with. But $344 for a clogged toilet was just gilding the lily. They also tracked through my house in dirty shoes/workbooks. I know when I’ve had other technicians come to do work they’ve always come prepared with and used boot covers. All in all, I believe in supporting the local merchants as much as possible, but i won’t be asking them to return for any future repairs.
