Paid WAY too much for a fix that took less than an hour and a part that probably cost them $40-50. I needed the cartridge replaced in our shower handle because the shower wouldn't turn off. Before calling a plumber, I turned off the household water myself and removed the shower handle all the way to the cartridge, but couldn't get that out. I called a few companies to find someone who could come same day and that's how I ended up scheduling Black Diamond Experts. The plumber that came out did come within a couple of hours and he was a nice guy, but they charged me over $600 to replace the cartridge, simply because I couldn't get the old piece out myself. The plumber started working on it at 1:22pm and had everything replaced and was out the door by 2:09pm. That's a crazy cost for something that took so little time and the part was not expensive. (The moen cartridge at Standard Plumbing is $53.69.) On the invoice, the line item was simply, "replace single handle shower cartridge" for $6

Last night, our AC went out. Called Black Diamond, and they were able to have a tech come out the next day during the busy season. When Henry arrived, he was great - very professional, personable, and knew his stuff. He diagnosed the issues quickly, and took detailed pics and view from up in our attic to show the issues involved. When it came time to discuss repairs (in our case, replacing the whole HVAC system, which is nearly 20 years old), Henry was great at explaining options, and even went out of his way to set us up with discounts we didn't even know about. Eventually, we elected to go with another company to replace the system, but strictly due to their being able to give us an overall better deal financially, which is the only reason for the 4 stars - Henry was great, as were the office staff when we called to arrange things.
