We received a brand new HVAC unit from this company were actually two one for the upstairs and one for the downstairs. Today they sent a rep out to make sure that everything was going well with the system, and he was very professional throughout the entire process of today checking everything from the outside to the attic to make sure that everything was working fine. He arrived on time did a thorough check. It was very very nice to have the process. I have used American Mechanical for a long time. I love the people and find them to be very customer focused. However the past few years they have gotten very expensive. On this last service call, there was an improperly installed pvc pipe to the drain line. The tech himself told me “someone didn’t install this correctly, and I’m guessing we are the ones who installed it.” (Which they were.) To replace about 2 feet of PVC line and flush the PVC drain they charged almost $700. The parts could not have been more than $10 and they had two guys at my house for about an hour. They initially wanted another $85 for the service call fee but when I mentioned that this is usually applied to the repair if I authorized it. They were very nice and agreed to remove the charge.
