Architectural Exterior Design

I have to update my review. Few days after installation of my new roof, shingles on one of the edges got raised upwards forming a large gap about 2 inch wide and a foot long. You can see there is nothing holding them down in that spot. No adhesive or nail or anything at all. I called and spoke to Ryan about this and got an instant push back from him. He didn't even look at the area but automatically assumed Its not their fault but my house fault. While replacement was going on no one once mentioned any troubles with that specific area. When I questioned it with him he said they didn't see there was a problem. And when I asked them to fix it they said I have to sign a service agreement for additional $250 for them to come and fix it as the roof is 100 % correct. I offered to send pictures of that shingles gap and he agreed. Once he received pictures where you can clearly see that large gap he continued blaming the house, the metal and everything else but the work they performed. Instead

It was suggested by a GAF roofing representative that I file a complaint regarding one of their Certified Contractors, Architectural Exterior Design, Inc. and the owner Mr. Ryan Merritt. In early 2019 I did much work analyzing roof proposals and contractors. My biggest concern was the weather and winds of Virginia Beach. I was willing to pay more to make sure that the roof system chosen and contractor were solid. I eventually selected Architectural Exterior Design and Ryan because: -shingles were to last up to 130 mph -shingles were to be secured with no less than 6 nails per shingle -.32 gage metal perimeter fastened to rakes -the 10 year system plus extended warranty -a positive reference from another home owner who worked with Architectural Exterior Design, Ryan Merritt and the GAF roofing system -Ryan’s website which acknowledged that they understand that “As a roofing contractor they know that storms hit us hard here in Hampton Roads and that they take a

I would not recommend this company. We got a quote from them to install two attic fans and decided to use them as the price seemed fair. In the midst of installing the first fan the guy literally left the job. The young man helping him was left stranded not knowing what to do. He had to pack up and leave. No one from the company contacted us to let us know what happened. We had to contact them. It took them over a week to get someone else out to our home to finish the job, knowing there was incomplete work on our roof and it was open to rain and other potential damage. This was after us calling them repeatedly. The second person who came to finish the job left a wooden board just nailed to our roof. Again, we had to call them to get someone back out to take the board off of the roof. This company is very unresponsive and unprofessional. Save yourself some hassle and use someone else.
