I've done plumbing for myself and others for a long time. But I know when a job is bigger or more complicated than I want to take on. A coworker recommended John after I mentioned I had problems with the main water shutoff to my home. I called John and asked if he could look at the job. I know better than to call and ask, "What does it cost to replace the shutoff?" Every job is different and if a plumber is willing to give me an estimate over the phone, I know the price they give is likely lower that what the final bill will be. And if the phone estimate is unusually high, I know I'm probably paying for that company's marketing and their employee perks rather than just what my job entails. So John came over that day to look at the work. His estimate was reasonable for all the work the job required so I hired him to return and get it done. John showed up exactly when he said he would. My wife made him a cup of coffee, charmed by his friendly demeanor and Australian accent. I watched hi
This guy is an absolute nut job. First, I called him and he said he was in between jobs and he could be here within 20 mins. An hour and a half later, he calls again to say he got hung up and he will be here within another 20 minutes. Another hour later, he finally shows up. Fortunately, I was doing work on my home and really wasn't too concerned that he was late. It happens. But what really ticked me off, was when he actually showed up for the job, and I already prearranged for my HOA to send someone to shut off the water main. The HOA said they will have someone there to shut off the water by 10am. It was literally 10:03 and John just blew a gasket. He began screaming in the parking lot in front of my building because this guy was running late to shut off the main. He began to yell at me because I didn't have it shut off ahead of time. Then he left. Meanwhile, the maintenance guy showed up at 10:15 and said he was shutting off 3 buildings that day and I was the second. The point is,
John was professional, polite and extremely timely in returning phone calls and completing repairs. A++ service.
