Kitchen sink was backed up so we called after finding they were advertising a $99 any drain clearing offer. Tech showed up, well dressed, clean clothes and polite. Initial estimate was $405 that was dropped to $365 with a seniors discount. He proceeded to plunge..... not snake the drain. Within less than 5 minutes he was done, less than 45 from first ringing the doorbell. We renegotiated the cost down to $250. Not bad for less than an hour. I did ask about the $99 offer to which he replied that is the corp offer. They are a franchise and do not honor any deals. I get the feeling that the tech is on commission. Pricing is not on any sort of fixed basis after they "eye" you up, the estimate is given. Like dealing with a used car salesman. Drain is fixed, for now, but next time I will be wiser, ask more questions and look around on how others do their pricing instead of being fleeced based on the house, cars in the drive and age of resident.
