Polar Bear Cooling & Heating

I can’t say enough kind words about Polar Bear Cooling & Heating ! My husband and I live in Staten Island, NY. My husband’s sister, who is 75 years of age, just lost her husband a little over a month ago. She lives in Nokomis. Her air conditioning system has been giving her A LOT of trouble lately. We called another air conditioning company in the area first and they totally took advantage of her ! They told her there were a few things wrong with the air conditioner, that it couldn’t be fixed and he could only fix it temporarily. He proceeded to charge her $400. I wish we would have called Alex at Polar Bear BEFORE we called this other “shady” company !! My sister-in-law’s air conditioning went out completely ! Alex got there first thing the next morning but in the meantime, told her how to switch the thermostat so the house would stay cooler, longer. Alex K. responded quickly when I requested maintenance check up. He is professional, truly competent, and even changed a light bulb in my attic I could not reach. Alex, the owner, scheduled out Alex L. who came out within a few hours of us calling. The problem was a leaky A/C which was dripping water everywhere. Alex was very thorough, polite, and did a great job assessing the damage. Not only did he fix the problem, which was a backed up pipeline full of gunk, but he took the time and cleaned up the water that had been dripping from the A/C. He also was willing to answer any questions thoroughly. In the past six years they have helped out when we had problems at the other house. The past, another worker took the time to move the thermostat from the second floor to the first floor to accompany my needs.
