Just had a free inspection for a roof replacement. They asked to come in and go in the attic. After I refused I was told that they didn't feel my family was safe without going in the attic, causing me to feel very anxious. I allowed them in and told them that going up can be messy and I didn't want to have a big mess. I assumed they would clean it up. It was a small bit of insulation but they did not clean it. I spent the next 1.5 hours with my new born in my arms listening to a sales pitch. It felt like it was intended to really put down other contractors and to make me feel unsafe using anyone else. I just wanted to move the conversation along to get their bid, Finally an nearly 2 hours after they arrived did they give me a number. I had yet to meet with any other contractors but had a really bad gut feeling. I pushed back and said that I was not comfortable with that price and they insisted they call their manager to lower it.
