Our A/C went out again. Our systems are old and we assumed the coil had finally given out. We had Phil N. Great replace the Freon in June, and we now felt we needed to replace the entire system. Phil N Great came out to diagnose the problem, finding that the blower had shut down due to recent power outages because of the storm. Tyler was the technician, discovered the true issue and saved us thousands of dollars replacing the system that was still working well. He fixed the power issue and had our A/C running in 30 minutes. The team at Phil N Great was outstanding from start to finish. The evaporator coil failed on our 12-year-old system. We called ARS, the company that installed it, and they said the coil or the entire system had to be replaced and quoted what sounded like a high estimate. The ARS tech also said our whole house filter needed to be changed and quoted $300 for that. I knew that was way high The filter costs only $56.50 and just slides in a slot. I called Phil N Great for a second opinion. They had done a great job on some duct work a while back and I wanted to get an estimate from a local company. The tech came out the next day on time and did a complete diagnostic (at way less than what ARS charged). He agreed with the ARS diagnosis but quoted a more reasonable cost and did not try to upsell me. I spoke with Catlin, the owner, about replacement options and asked for an additional estimate to include relocating the system from a cramped closet to the craw space and adding zoning. We decid
