I too was fooled by the positive reviews on Google and Houzz. House Boy started a large job for me without proper permits. When we learned that permits were required, House Boy made it my problem and was not interested in following proper proceedures. I released House Boy from the job after becoming quite uncomfortable with Dave's (owner) intentions and lack of honesty. Turns out much of the project was not within code compliance. I overpaid for the work that they did complete and I am still working to get it up to code on my own. While working with House Boy I experienced delays, cost increases, and dishonesty from management. Distraught over how I made such a poor decision to go with House Boy, I dug deeper and found reviews of similar customer experiences. Do your homework on this company. I called HouseBoy after finding them on the BBB website for some fence work we needed complete. The estimate that we were given for the cost of the project as well as the time it would take was right on. They finished on time and on budget. The crew that came out to do the work were friendly, professional and very respectful. I will definitely call them again for other projects as well as recommend them to all my friends. We use House Boy for all of our maintenance service and they are fantastic! We always get a prompt response and quality work for very reasonable prices. We have been using this company for years and would not think of calling anyone else for any repair work at our home. We have never had any issues with any of the work performed, we have never had any issues with the guys showing up late or not delivering what we have asked them to do and many times we need to add on additional items and they are gracious and complete additional items for us. They come out for emergency items on very short notice and are very friendly. We recommend them to all of our friends and will continue to do so! Top-notch company that you cannot go wrong with! We have not come across anything yet that they cannot fix – fully licensed to do ANYTHING!!!!
