Advanced Home Services

Like everyone else here, I was dispatched this company by American Home Shield. I have a leak in my bathroom. My house is older, however the bathroom is a newer add-on. This particular bathroom had a leak back in November and a different company dispatched by American Home Shield, came out opened the wall and fixed the leak. Advanced just said no to opening up the same wall - said it's a liability. The American Home Shield warranty specifically states that it will cover costs for opening walls up to $1000, however, this guy from Advanced told me that I needed to file a homeowners insurance claim. What? No, I don't! Also, you knew how old the house was when you came to this old neighborhood. All the house here are from the 1940's (even though the add-on with the leak is from 2012). I just wasted hours of my work day for nothing! Luckily, American Home Shield is sending out another company!

Although dealing with AMERICAN HOME WARRANTY is akin to the innermost circle of hell, their plumbing vendor ADVANCED HOME SERVICES makes up for it regarding my plumbing issues. They communicate, work around your schedule, are friendly, are knowledgeable, and actually care about customer service. I will use them again for non-home warranty work. Highly recommend their professional demeaner and can do attitude. I enjoyed working with both Jorge and Houston on site as well as their entire office staff/dispatch.

Total clown show. They're a contractor for AHS and sent a tech out to my home for an issue with our shower valve. Tech was here for less than 90 seconds, turned the faucet, took a photo of the faucet, said the cartridge needed to be replaced but was unsure if they could find the part. If they can't find the part, he said, they'd replace the entire valve unit. I have this on my home's security camera system. 24 hours later, I see on the AHS portal that somehow they've determined that the problem is actually a "stoppage" in my hot water line (it's not, the water is fine everywhere else) and that this is not covered by the warranty and they want $1300 for this work to...get this...replace the valve. I called to ask how they could have possibly determined this "stoppage" without physically inspecting anything and was basically just jerked around with a big shrug of the shoulders and told that it is what it is. Totally dishonest and inept contractors. Don't even bother.
