Had them come out to check ac. Was told over phone they had a $89.95 special. Check coils, blow out drain, check blower, contactor, etc. When he found unit was low on refrigerant that all went out the window. He said he would need to charge unit and add stop leak to unit. I was very leary about the leak stop but he said they add it to all units even new installs. He quoted me a price I heard less than $400 which didn't sound bad. I was busy mowing my grass when I went over to see what was going on he said something about $850. I questioned him about it and he told me I heard wrong. He had already done work so what could I do. He completed work and started making up ticket they don't give you a itemized bill it's just very general. I questioned him three times about how much refrigerant was added and he hummed and hawed and couldn't give me an answer. He couldn't even tell the price they charge for a pound of refrigerant. Never seen crews who worked this hard, especially in the heat. Kudos. I would give a 5 but..made my purchase decision. Make sure you are made aware of ALL options and that the one you select is fully explained to you. I wanted American Standard to replace my Trane. I wanted American Standard. The salesperson went to the van and when he came back, the only two options on his invoice was Carrier and a Knock Off. I was hot and wanted AC. I feel I was blindsided. But I made the choice, I am an intelligent person..I independently and intelligently selected a knock off brand. . Hope the quality is there. County Wide did everything possible to make this a good experience. Who knows? Maybe it will be even better than American Standard. Keeping an open mind. I was consistently treated with dignity and respect. They even loaned me a floor portable A/C. But did require me to pay $750.00 down payment on my contract before they would leave the portable unit.
