Our roof was around 20 years old and needed to be replaced so that we could have solar panels installed. We contacted at least three roofers to get bids on this job. One of the roofers didn't even look at the interior of the roof and quoted us a price that included replacing all of the plywood / particle board underlayment. This quote was over twice the price we finally paid. Another roofer looked at the interior of the attic and still quoted us a price that substantially higher than what we ultimately paid. Pro Roofing did a thorough inspection and indicated that perhaps one or two sheets of underlayment would need replacing, but not the entire roof. Further, they took the time to understand our direct needs and suggested we go with a slightly lower cost shingle material given that it is unlikely we will be in this house for the next fifty years.
