Although the Electrician was nice enough and did the job well (simple thermostat replace) i was shocked to see the hourly rate on my invoice was $127 per hour. The guy was here for 20mins tops. When I asked the person who sent me the invoice, I feel like I could hear the laugh in his message saying "Yes, our rates have risen alot in the last few years". Then, to top it off, there is no way for me to pay, unless with Check, without paying a 3% service charge. So on top of being expensive for the hourly rate, they then charge you additionally to pay them. I feel like the convenience fee should be included within the $127 per hour. I will probably not be using this Company again, and instead will try to use a Company or are more forth coming with prices, and who are not just solely focused on $$. I'm disappointed. Service: Electrical outlet & switch installation
During a recent cold period, one of our insert wall heaters went out unexpectedly. We called around and Contractors Electric was able to send someone out the next day. The electrician was friendly, efficient, and professional. Fortunately, a local shop had a replacement unit in stock and Contractors was able to replace the unit within a short time frame. The invoice was reasonably and overall we were very pleased with the service provided. Service: Installation
Competent and professional for the repaired overheated junction box. Just know that you will pay ~$130/ hr. for a trained electrician to drive and/or get parts at times. Seemed like an unreasonable amount of the labor charge (2.25 hrs. in total) was for time not actually on-site. Arrival and diagnosis (30 min. max.), left for ~1hr. to check on another job (which I am assuming was billed to THAT job) and get parts, returned to do repair which was rather quick since the whole house power needed to be turned off. I understand that electricians need to be paid when they are working (no matter what they are doing apparently), but rates should be adjusted to reflect time not actually utilizing highly-valued knowledge and skills, otherwise the business model remains vulnerable with customers.
