We had initially started a solar project with PetersenDean, but they went bankrupt before they could installed our system. Earlier, we had had our Generac generator serviced by Brandon at Modernize, back when PG&E was first shutting off power due to fire danger. So we contacted Modernize about picking up our solar project. Modernize made several recommendations, revised the plan, and installed the system in a very timely manner. The system has been running for a month and a half, producing about a megawatt-hour a month now, on target with what we had hoped for. Modernize Power is by far the best contract company I've worked with since we bought our house 4 years ago. We have a house built in the 60s with an old Zinsco panel that couldn't handle the upgrades we wanted to do to our house. One internet inquiry led me to Eric and his wonderful crew. Unfortunately for us, the upgrades we were planning wouldn't be as easy as a simple panel swap. Eric was always up front about the reality of the cost and timeline in having to bring underground cables up to code and having to work with SMUD to make sure everything was on the up and up.
