Island Roofing

Island replaced tile roof, which didn't pass wind mitigation certification. They charged our insurance 50% more than what a normal replacement would have costs. It is hard to be patient when your roof is damaged by a Hurricane and the Insurance Company gives you a damage appraisal within your deductible. The Island Roofing Team of professionals came to our rescue by immediately mitigating the water penetration and preparing a legal case in case our Insurance company continued to deny and make no reasonable offers to settle. As the months ticked by and our own frustrations mounted we were in constant communication with David Schmenk who kept us appraised of the legal process which took a very long time. Through depositions and discovery our case moved through the legal process at a snails pace which is the normal speed with litigation. Months turned to years but finally in the end the case settled before trial. There were additional delays due to Covid related supply chain problems but in the end our beautiful new roof was completed by Island and we couldn’t be happier. The roofers were very professional and cleaned our property at every step.

We had some shingles lost from hurricane Ian. Island roofing was one of only 6 companies to return my call and come out for an estimate. Island came out and looked at the roof, outside only without going in the attic and asked me to sign paperwork. I asked why the $ part of the paperwork was left empty and I was assured we wouldn't be charged anything unless work was done. Very shady practices. We finally got our insurance numbers and then we never heard back from island after three emails, I guess the numbers weren't high enough for them to repair our roof.
